Meet Sheila, Registered Nurse and Laser Safety Officer
Sheila is a registered nurse who has been a member of the SkinCare Physicians family for 4 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMass Amherst, then worked for several years as a nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Over the past few years, Sheila has received specialized training in CoolSculpting, Thermage, Infini, miraDry and laser hair removal. Not only does she love learning, she also enjoys sharing her knowledge. Earlier this year, she presented the results from the miraDry Quality Improvement Project, a study she conducted with two other SkinCare Physicians nurses.
In addition to her responsibilities as a dermatology nurse, Sheila is a Team Leader who plays a critical role at the practice. She is our laser safety officer and ensures that all the lasers are working properly. Sheila also coordinates educational training opportunities for both the nursing staff and our fellowship program.
Specialty procedures: Body sculpting, skin tightening, and hyperhidrosis treatment
Sheila’s favorite part about working at SkinCare Physicians:
- Being able to perform a variety of treatments every day.
- Learning the latest cosmetic and medical procedures.
- Working with exceptional physicians who are the best in the field of dermatology and trust her skills.
Her message to patients: “I am passionate about caring for my patients and educating them about various procedures. But more importantly, I love making my patients feel good about themselves.”
In her free time: Sheila enjoys cuddling with her 10-month-old daughter, Nevaeh, spending time with her husband, traveling, dancing, and listening to music.
