New Acne Treatment at SkinCare Physicians!  SkinCare Physicians was among the first sites in the world to use Photopneumatic Technology (Photo = Light; Pneumatic = Vacuum/Suction) and is proud to offer Isolaz, powered by this innovative new technology. Isolaz Acne Treatments are painless, non-invasive treatments for acne. The quick 20 minute Isolaz procedure requires no anesthetic and uses suction to help mechanically clear clogged pores while the light helps destroy acne causing bacteria. Patients love the instant gratification that comes with seeing "white specs" literally sucked out of their pores. Over the course of the treatment, patients notice a reduction in pore size, less oily skin and of course a very visible improvement in their acne.

Typically, patients require 4-5 treatment sessions and results are usually visible 24-48 hours after treatment. The Isolaz is FDA cleared for the treatment of numerous types of acne and has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Allure, Harpers Bazaar, Self, New Beauty, New York Weddings,The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal in the past four months.

GentleWaves LED Photomodulation technology is the interaction of light delivered through LEDs (light emitting diodes) to activate skin cells causing them to produce collagen. this technology converts light energy within the cells, similar to the way photosynthesis takes sunlight and turns it into food energy in plants. GentleWaves LED technology can now offer a totaly natural, non-invasive method of skin rejuvenation to reduce the visible signs of aging.

Gentlewaves does not rely on thermal energy so there is no trauma to the skin, no pain or discomfort, and no side effects. The main benefit is a smoother, softer and creamier looking skin with reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, freckles, brown spots and skin redness.

A series of 8-10 treatments is recommended and you can be treated up to twice a week since there is no thermal effect on the skin. GentleWaves LED Photomodulation is painless, involving no anesthesia or discomfort, and there is no "downtime". Treatments can take less than 5 minutes and it is suitable for all skin types.

GentleWaves has been scientifically tested, and FDA submitted studies demonstrated a 60% global improvement in overall skin quality. In addition, GentleWaves has been found to be extremely effective in improving the appearance of the neck and chest, which has been difficult to treat up to now. GentleWaves LED Photomodulation can also be used in conjunction with other procedures such as microdermabrasion, IPL, CoolTouch & Botox to enhance the results.

THERMAGE (THERMACOOL TC) TREATMENTS: FACELIFT WITHOUT A SCALPEL

The Thermage ThermaCool TC system was recently approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in tissue tightening of the face. A recent innovation in the use of this machine has been to tighten the skin of the lower face, in short producing some of the improvements one might see with a facelift, but without the surgery. Recovery time is negligible.

The Thermage procedure was in part pioneered by Michael S. Kaminer, M.D. Dr. Kaminer is a partner at SkinCare Physicians of Chestnut Hill, and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at both Yale and Dartmouth Medical Schools. He is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in cosmetic surgery, and co-editor of the Atlas of Cosmetic Surgery, one of the most widely read textbooks of its kind.

Dr. Kaminer has been involved with Thermage since the inception of the company, and led the clinical trials that subsequently led to FDA approval of the device. He has personally treated more patients with the ThermaCool device than any other doctor in New England, and was one of the first in the world to use Thermage for the non-surgical facelift.

The Thermage procedure works by producing a very highly controlled electrical current which is delivered to the skin by a smart handpiece that is under the doctors control. Once the electrical current is applied, the skin has a natural resistance to the flow of electrons that in turn produces heat. It is this heat production that causes the temperature of collagen in the skin to rise, and the collagen is permanently tightened. It is this tightening of collagen and its supporting structures that produces the terrific results seen with this technique.

Other benefits of Thermage are currently being investigated. It appears that treatment also helps to reduce fat under the skin, which can give the face a more shapely and angular look. The role of Thermage in the treatment of cellulite is being investigated, as well as its uses in acne, shrinking the skin of the abdomen, and breast lifting. It is already widely used for a non-surgical browlift.
