ResearchAt SkinCare Physicians, each dermatologist in our Boston area practice is dedicated to advancing the field of dermatology. The center's founders and their colleagues have long been actively involved in scholarly activities, clinical research, and writing and editing books, atlases, journals and journal articles. They teach medical students, residents and fellows, and are involved in academic societies as elected officers, committee chairmen, and program directors of national and international meetings. Each year they direct the advanced symposium "Controversies and Conversations in Laser and Cosmetic Surgery." Most of their journal publications may be accessed through PubMed. Their books may be available through online bookstores such as Amazon.com. SkinCare Physicians near Boston trains 3 dermatologists in its fellowship programs in Mohs skin cancer surgery, dermatologic surgery and laser and aesthetic surgery every year. These physicians have gone on to lead hospital and medical school departments of dermatologic and laser surgery, become leaders in academic dermatologic surgery, and establish dermatologic practices. The clinical research center studies and evaluates many new and emerging technologies and medications. There are multiple studies ongoing at all times under the direction of 2 full-time clinical research staff. The results of these investigations are reported at national meetings and published in the medical literature. Over 30 studies in the areas of general dermatology, skin surgery, and laser and cosmetic surgery have been performed in the past 6 years. Our involvement in these areas allows us to bring the latest medical advances to our practice for our dermatology and hair transplant patients in the Boston area. |
