Sun Damage

Sun Damage

Exposure to the sun is one of the most common causes of damage to the skin. Signs of sun damage include brown spots, enlarged blood vessels, uneven coloring, and thinning skin. The face, neck, chest, arms, and hands are typically most affected. The specialists at SkinCare Physicians offer a variety of treatments that improve the appearance and health of skin that is suffering from sun damage. Greater Boston residents have confidence in our experience and knowledge, and appreciate our personalized care.

Treatment Options

During your consultation, we will develop a treatment plan that can help you attain the improvements you want within the amount of recovery time you have available. The treatments listed below address sun damage by evening out coloring and increasing collagen production. While some treatments correct multiple conditions at once, a combination of treatments is often beneficial. Discover possible treatment options by visiting the following pages:

  • Laser skin resurfacing with Fraxel® and other advanced fractional lasers provides skin rejuvenation with just 1 or 2 treatments and minimal downtime.
  • Clear + Brilliant is less aggressive than our fractional laser treatments, yet slightly more aggressive than microdermabrasion. This gentle fractional laser treatment can prevent signs of aging and maintain improvements from Fraxel treatments.
  • Laser skin therapy with our extensive selection of state-of-the-art medical lasers, including Vbeam®, GentleLASE®, and Nd:YAG, rejuvenates the entire surface of the skin.
  • Photorejuvenation, also called intense pulsed light (IPL), reduces signs of sun damage gradually without downtime. A series of treatments is required for optimal results.
