Tixel®: Eliminating Wrinkles around the Eyes, Mouth, and Neck
Tixel is a novel, non-invasive, non-laser treatment that uses controlled heat to treat mild skin laxity and improve fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, mouth and neck, with minimal downtime. Based on advanced thermo-mechanical technology, Tixel delivers thermal energy to the surface of the skin in a fractional manner through a medical-grade titanium tip. The energy generates heat safely and quickly, stimulating your skin’s natural renewal process by boosting collagen and elastin production.
How does Tixel work?
During treatment, a matrix of tiny, pyramid-shaped cones briefly touches the skin for just a few milliseconds, transferring controlled thermal energy beneath the surface. This heat creates an array of precise micro-injuries, known as ‘coagulation sites’, which stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin. Because each cone holds only a limited amount of energy, the process is non-ablative and remodels the skin without burning or harming its surface.
Key benefits of Tixel treatment
- Visible improvement in fine lines, wrinkles and loose skin
- Minimal downtime
- No surgery
What areas can be treated?
- Around the eyes – crow’s feet, periorbital area, eyelids
- Around the mouth
- Neck
When should you schedule a Tixel treatment?
While Tixel can be performed all year round, it is best to schedule the procedure when you do not have important social engagements.
What can you expect during a Tixel treatment?
Our skilled nurses perform the Tixel treatments.
- When you arrive: They will take baseline photographs and review the treatment plan. They will then apply a topical anesthetic gel for approximately 30 minutes to make the treatment more comfortable.
- During treatment: You may feel some heat.
- After treatment: You can expect mild redness, swelling, scaling and roughness in the area treated for up to 5 days.
What aftercare do we recommend?
- Avoid retinols or harsh products in the area treated for 1 week.
- Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen daily.
How soon can you see results from Tixel treatment?
Some patients may notice improvement after a single session, though a series of 3 monthly treatments provides best results. Your dermatologist will tailor a plan for your skin needs and may recommend maintenance treatments to sustain your results overtime.
Who is a good candidate for Tixel treatment?
- Ideal candidates for Tixel are those with mild wrinkling of the skin around the eyes and/or the mouth, as well as on the neck.
- Tixel is suitable for people of all skin types.
