Prasanthi Kandula, MD

Dr. Prasanthi Kandula is a board-certified dermatologist with interest in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She graduated magna cum laude from the combined BA/MD program at University of Missouri – Kansas City. In medical school, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received numerous awards for her academic achievements. She completed her internship in pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO and her dermatology residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN, where she served as their chief resident during her final year.

Following her residency, she completed a one-year fellowship in Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology at SkinCare Physicians. She developed expertise in a variety of cosmetic procedures. These include the injection of neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport for facial lines and wrinkles, and fillers such as Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, Belotero, and Radiesse for facial and body rejuvenation; use of lasers and other energy devices for the treatment of rosacea, vascular birthmarks, photodamage and aging skin, acne scarring, melasma, tattoo removal, and non-invasive skin tightening; and PRP for hair loss, Cellfina for cellulite, CoolSculpting for body contouring, and miraDry for excess sweating.

Dr. Kandula has co-authored multiple book chapters and articles. She is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatology Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, New England Dermatology Society, and Women’s Dermatologic Society.

Outside of practicing dermatology, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, running and spinning, and exploring Boston’s food scene.
