Dr. Michael Kaminer recently shared his insight about Cellfina, the FDA-cleared treatment for cellulite. He was quoted in The Weekly Challenger Newspaper saying: “I’ve been practicing liposuction for 20 years, so I’ve been dealing with women and body issues and what they see when they look in the mirror for a long time. […] It’s a really neat thing to have the technology now that allows me to say, I can help you.” Read the full article: New treatment erases signs of cellulite.

Dr. Michael Kaminer did a story with Dr. Mallika Marshall for CBS Boston News, about how difficult it is to get people to wear sunscreen, despite all the public education and statistics about skin cancer risks. Getting the message through to patients is like “knocking his head against a coconut,” Dr. Kaminer said. “There is something about having a tan that makes people, in particular young people, feel either better or empowered or stronger and that tan translates to other things, and our message is fighting against a very powerful equation on the other side,” he added. “We haven’t figured out how to solve that puzzle yet.”

The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) recently had its 35th Annual Conference, Laser 2015, in Kissimmee, Florida. This year, as usual, many doctors from SkinCare Physicians played a prominent part in the meeting as they have in this organization from its inception. Those involved actively participated in podium presentations of research, planning and moderating courses, delivering talks in multiple teaching sessions and other activities. They were Drs. Arndt, Dover, Kaminer, Rohrer and Robinson, and Fellow doctors Desai, Prather and Kruter.
Examples of topics addressed by SkinCare Physicians’ dermatologists during courses and presentations included:
Non-invasive skin tightening and fat removal.
Optimizing patient outcomes by selecting the most appropriate device or technique for a given indication.
Maximizing patient satisfaction.
Non-invasive treatment of cellulite.
Clinical evaluation of picosecond lasers for the removal of tattoos.
Among those present at Laser 2015, were SkinCare Physicians’ doctors who happened to be founding members, two past presidents, board of directors’ members, program directors, multiple section leaders from several years, members of numerous committees, journal editorial board members, task force leaders, and multiple recipients of honorary awards and lectureships in recognition of scholarly contributions and service to laser medicine and surgery.

Fifteen years later, we “[…] have exceeded whatever thoughts we had and what this type of practice can do, and even after 15 years, I don’t believe that there are any other groups similar to ours around the country,[…]” said Dr. Kenneth Arndt to the editor.
Earlier this week, SkinCare Physicians’ Dr. Michael Kaminer explained to CBS Boston News how the new Cellfina treatment for Cellulite works. Dr. Kaminer was part of the team that developed Cellfina. Drs. Michael Kaminer and Deanne Robinson, who conducted the studies that resulted in the FDA approval of Cellfina for long term improvement of cellulite, are extensively quoted in this article from Beauty In The Bag. “A staggering 64 million women between the ages of 24-45 in the U.S. spend $1B on cellulite treatments every year, says Dr. Robinson. And as we all know, most of the available treatments don’t make a huge difference. […] We see visible results in three days, and patients continue to look even better over time,” she said.
